Toyota Camry 2024 Review

The 2024 Toyota Camry is here, and it’s turning heads. This popular sedan combines style, comfort, and technology. With an array of features, it caters to a wide range of drivers. In this review, we’ll explore its performance, design, and safety features. Let’s dive into what makes the 2024 Camry a standout choice in its class.

Under the hood, the 2024 Toyota Camry offers a choice of powerful engines, including a fuel-efficient four-cylinder and a robust V6 option, ensuring that drivers can select the performance that best suits their needs. The sedan also boasts a smooth and responsive driving experience, enhanced by its well-tuned suspension and precise steering. Inside, the cabin is designed with high-quality materials and ample space, providing both comfort and practicality for passengers.

Interior, Comfort, and Storage

The instrument panel and center console of the Toyota Camry maintain a consistent design across all trims, which is acceptable if you appreciate its somewhat intricate shapes and multitude of buttons. However, given that there are nine trims within an $8,000 range, it’s surprising to see such a disparity in the quality of interior materials from the entry-level SE to the top-tier XSE Hybrid. The lower trims feel basic and make no attempt to disguise it, while the XLE and XSE provide a genuinely luxurious experience for a $35,000 sedan. There’s no question about the spacious and comfortable seating. The Camry’s expansive dimensions offer ample room for passengers, numerous interior storage spaces, and significant cargo capacity in the sizeable trunk. The rear seats can be folded down to accommodate larger items. In the hybrid models, Toyota has moved the sizable battery from the trunk to underneath the rear seats, allowing owners to maintain cargo capacity without compromising on fuel efficiency.

Engine & Performance

    • 2.5L 4-cylinder engine → ~203 hp

    • 3.5L V6 engine (optional) → 301 hp

    • Hybrid option → ~208 hp combined

    • Transmission → 8-speed automatic

    • 0–100 km/h (approx) → ~8 seconds (4-cylinder)

👉 Driving Experience:

    • Smooth and comfortable ride

    • Not very sporty (except TRD/V6 models)

    • Good for daily driving and long trips

However, the base engine can feel a bit slow and less exciting compared to rivals.

Fuel Economy

    • Petrol: ~28–39 MPG (12–16 km/l approx)

    • Hybrid: up to 50+ MPG (20+ km/l)

👉 This is one of the Camry’s biggest strengths — excellent fuel efficiency, especially in hybrid models.

Interior & Comfort

    • Spacious cabin (5 passengers)

    • Large trunk (~15.1 cubic feet)

    • Comfortable seats for long drives

    • Premium materials in higher trims

👉 Features:

    • Apple CarPlay & Android Auto

    • Touchscreen infotainment system

    • Wireless charging (in some trims)

The interior is comfortable but base trims feel a bit basic compared to competitors.

Safety Features

Toyota includes advanced safety as standard:

    • Adaptive cruise control

    • Lane keeping assist

    • Automatic emergency braking

    • Blind-spot monitoring (higher trims)

👉 This makes the Camry a very safe family car.
